One of the things about running your own show is that only YOU can keep you motivated. As SBL's, whatever our setting or circumstance, we all run our own show. As leaders of operations for education, we may sit to one side of the core function, but we impact on everything that goes on.

I can't argue that I'm not used to pushing myself forward, keeping my confidence going when imposter syndrome kicks in, and openly communicating when things get tough, because I am, but the start of 2025 still feels daunting. |

There is so still much to learn, about school business and small business, and I’ve worked with risk for long enough to recognise when it needs managing. 2025 is going to be the year that I really challenge myself and, for that to work, I am going to need all the self-motivation and time management I can muster! |

So, I say the same to you. However, you're feeling at the start of this New Year 2025, just remember that you have got this. Reach out to your network to give and receive support; plan your day; allocate time to think about your direction of travel; and, most of important of all, look after yourself. |
